Q+A Extensions

what are eyelash extensions?

lash extensions are single hair-like extensions that are adhered to your natural lashes, one by one, using a medical grade adhesive. everyone has different lashes, so the condition of your natural lashes will determine how long or thick your extensions will be. the ultimate goal is to give you beautiful, soft lashes while keeping your own strong + healthy. eyelash extensions will give instant length, thickness, + curl without the daily hassle of mascara.

will extensions ruin my natural lashes? how long will they last?

no. if they are applied correctly and are of the appropriate length + thickness, they will preserve all of your natural lashes... especially if you are currently using curlers + lots of product on them. the hair on our bodies has a natural growth cycle, so our lashes are constantly growing and shedding. the extensions will fall out along with your natural lash's growth cycle, only now it will be more visible... don't be alarmed.

be sure not to pull on your extensions or try to remove them yourself, this will cause unnatural loss of your lashes. if for any reason you need them removed, come to me + i will remove them safely with an adhesive dissolver.

lash extensions last through the entire growth cycle of your natural lashes. when one lash's cycle is complete, it sheds so that a new one can come in. so since each extension is applied to a single lash, the extension will fall out at the same time that the lash it's attached to sheds. all hair grows at a different rate, but it's safe to say you will see your lashes slowly start to shed over the course of 2-3 weeks. coming back for a fill around the 2-3 week mark will ensure you have a beautiful, full lash line at all times.

*please be sure to come in for a fill while you still have at least 50% of your extensions left from your previous appointment. anything less than 50%, or past the 4 week mark, will be considered a full set rather than a fill.

but this other place offers lash extensions for $40? do you ever run specials?

more than likely, this type of "lash extension" is not the real deal. these low cost alternatives are called "cluster lashes." cluster lashes are essentially a bunch of lashes that have been pre-glued together (like you would buy at CVS or Ulta). they're incredibly heavy and will destroy your natural eyelashes because they do not allow your naturals to grow at their own pace, causing them to break when the cluster falls off. not to mention they require no training or licensing on the artist's behalf. remember, the length and width of your extensions should always be determined by the health of your natural lashes.
