Q+A Dermaplaning
what is dermaplaning?
dermaplaning is a gentle exfoliation method, using a surgical grade scalpel, that removes dead skin & vellus hair (peach fuzz), exposing a fresh layer of baby soft, glow skin from below. this removes the stratum corneum & most of the epidermis.
BENEFITS:
-removes buildup of dry dead skin that clogs the pores & hair follicles to keep the skin clear & prevent breakouts -effective at removing blackheads & comedones -dewy skin, smoother texture, & faster cell turnover -brightens the skin by removing damaged skin that has been darkened from sun exposure -removes vellus hair for a flawless makeup application. -allows for deeper penetration of serums & skincare products so that they can be more effective -zero downtime
will my hair grow back thicker?
derma planing will NOT make your hair grow back thicker. removing the hair this way cannot change the structure of your hair follicles. vellus hair will always be vellus hair, regardless of where it is on the body. no exceptions.
what is the difference between professional derma planing & a store bought derma planing tool/shaving?
this treatment, when done by a professional, uses a medical grade scalpel. it is much sharper & works deeper than a razor or store bought derma planing tool yielding a dramatically different result. derma planing tools and razors that are available for the general public to use do not remove the epidermis, they simply remove the hair.
what skin types can do this treatment?
this treatment is great for anyone with dull or dry skin, acne scarring, or sun damage
it is NOT IDEAL for anyone with inflamed acne, rosacea, eczema, or open wounds & cold sores
